Visitors
I was very happy about the overwhelming response for the show. Visitors spent quite a lot of time viewing the paintings, especially when even children showed keen interest.
Body Language of Contemporary India - solo art show
'Body Language' - my solo art show was held at the 'Chitra Kala Parishath' art gallery from 1st Feb to 8th Feb 2009.
Photos of the exhibition and visitors comments on the show are featured in this blog.
The theme of my art show was 'Body Language' of Contemporary India.
‘Body Language’ is a realistic portrayal of the unique body language, poise and posture of the average Indian. -- about the way we walk, talk, dress, carry ourselves, express feelings etc.
For me fine art is a life long continous learning experience. I feel I am constantly learning about myself and the world around me. I never seem to get enough of it. Depicting God's own wonderous nature, the people and emotions, and even man made creations on canvas is an exhilerating experience for me.
My favourite art icon is 'Monet'. I love his 'impressionist' style of painting landscapes, which I use in most of my paintngs. My favourite Indian idol is Raja Ravi Varma, whose portrait paintings had truly inspired me during childhood days, and led me into the world of fine art.
'My personal philosophy is to open people's minds to the beauty of our times and the scenes of everyday life around us' - usha
